Our daughter Alisa Katrin Boeke was born on October 29th, 2008, with Down syndrome and a serious heart defect that would require open heart surgery.  She also needed eye muscle surgery.  Her first year was a blur of hospitals and doctors’ visits, but she came through it all with flying colors and a smile on her face. We have faced many challenges over the last 9 years, but she has taught us so much about unconditional love and what is truly important. Last year she was also diagnosed with autism, which has its own challenges. We would like to see the world become a place where Ali is accepted and cherished for who she is. Thanks for following our journey!
