Hello Family and Friends,

     Please join us this year on October 5th to celebrate Kaden and many others with Down Syndrome. Help us spread awareness that Kaden’s life is worth living. The vision of the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin- Fox Cites (DSAW) is that we all understand the value of those with Down Syndrome in our lives and our communities. We continually strive for full acceptance, full access, full life and full potential. 

     It is hard to believe that Kaden is 7 years old.  Kaden’s speech is exploding. The other day he said, “ daddy want to play” 4 words and he is initiating it- exciting stuff!  Kaden is working hard on learning to read. He knows 30 sight words. He is right on the edge of reading. All his hard work, I know it will happen on his time. We are working hard on some of his behaviors. Most of the time it’s due to him not knowing how to express himself. It can be very hard at times but he is making huge gains in this area with his communications increasing. Kaden is enjoying playing Miracle League again this summer. He sure does love his cheering fans. Kaden is best friends with his little sis. Karli is his number one fan and is one proud sister. It is so fun to watch them play together. 

     What are the funds that are raised used for from our annual awareness walk?  Here are a few reasons why we are so thankful for DSAW Fox Cities and YOU. This year DSAW helped us send Kaden to Camp Hope. It is a fabulous 2 week day camp for kids with special needs. This summer Kaden is apart of the summer occupational therapy program that DSAW offers.  Also this summer Kaden was able to do equine therapy. He rides Copper! The funds also go to education. Two of the seminars I went to were on inclusion and potty training.  DSAW also has social events which is so nice to be able to go to. We are thankful for such great support from our DSAW family.
