I am participating in DURADASH, a fundraiser for the SPINAL CSF LEAK FOUNDATION, from May 24-June 7.

In the past two years, I've had symptoms of a spinal CSF leak and have been on an arduous journey to find answers. I've learned that there are many people like me suffering severe illness due to a spinal CSF leak or CSF venous fistula, and that these people are virtually on their own because of a lack of medical awareness and familiarity.

The journey is self-directed for these very ill folkds, who have to identify the few skilled providers, wait up to a year to be seen and then somehow make the difficult and expensive journey to a leak center. Many people tragically end up chronically ill.

THE SPINAL CSF LEAK FOUNDATION does the crucial work of providing information to patients, compiling new research and hosting annual conferences, attended by patients and doctors. Their work is absolutely critical and fills a gap in the medical system.
