About Me!
When people ask Dr. David Wachtel what he does, the short answer is that he’s an acupuncturist. The better answer? He helps people get back to doing the things they love. David is the owner of InMotion Acupuncture in Bend, where he specializes in Sports Medicine Acupuncture™, blending modern orthopedic assessment with the time-tested principles of Chinese medicine. Whether he’s helping an athlete return to competition, a weekend warrior get back on the trails, or someone simply move without pain, his passion is restoring movement. His philosophy is simple: life is meant to be lived in motion. A two-time Ironman triathlete and lifelong outdoor enthusiast, David feels most at home skiing, mountain biking, rafting, surfing, hiking, or exploring Central Oregon with his chocolate Labrador mix, Jamison. His appreciation for movement isn’t just professional—it’s personal. Since moving to Bend, David has become deeply invested in serving the community, both through his practice and by supporting organizations that make Central Oregon stronger. Which brings us to dancing. Despite years spent studying human movement, this may be David’s first opportunity to prove that understanding biomechanics does not automatically translate into graceful footwork. The science, it turns out, gets a little fuzzy once the music starts. Fortunately, every awkward step supports a much bigger purpose. David is honored to be part of Dancing with the Central Oregon Stars in support of the Sparrow Club. If a few questionable dance moves can help improve the lives of local children and families, he considers that a pretty fair trade.
About my Pro Partner!
Berklee Sati has been dancing since the age of 3 when she walked by a ballet class and told her parents “I want to do that!” As a teenager she branched out into jazz, modern, and lyrical, and then into cheerleading and Latin dance in her twenties. Berklee trained with multiple Latin dance teams in the San Francisco Bay Area and performed at Salsa festivals and congresses including New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Puerto Rico. Berklee has taught dance to children and adults including ballet, jazz, lyrical, Zumba, cardio dance, merengue, bachata, and salsa. She focuses on technique, musicality, and creativity, and encourages her students to bring their own personalities to the dance floor. Berklee moved to Bend last summer to finally live in the same city as most of her family again and began teaching Latin dance this Spring. She teaches group, private, and couple's Latin dance lessons as well as creative movement for kids. As someone who’s dedicated her professional life to both nonprofit work and dancing, she’s thrilled to be combining the two for such a worthy cause in her beloved new home.
