Hello everyone! My name is Brooke Mattocks. I’m from Troy, Pennsylvania and I am currently a first-year doctorate student at UNC completing my PhD in exercise physiology with a concentration in Exercise Oncology. Cancer has impacted many lives of the people I love and took my dad away from me unexpected in January 2023. This led to my determination, motivation, and passion to grow even more. I am so proud to be a member of the UNCCRI family that is fortunate enough to make a difference in our patients lives who come to our facility. I couldn’t be happier with the decision of moving across the country to pursue this degree but even more importantly, being a part of a program that has so much to offer to these cancer survivors. There is no better feeling than seeing our patients walk out our door with a big smile on their face!
