Why pets like me are important...
Let's face it, having a pet like me makes life more fun and calms you hoomans down when you need to chill. And pets like me have also been proven to help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and increase social interaction and physical activity. FreindshipWorks has five programs for older adults, but my favorite is their PetPals program, because it brings cats like me and other pets (and their hoomans!) to visit older adults in long-term care facilities in Boston, Brookline, and Cambridge.
