FriendshipWorks has been around for 40 years and has the same executive director as the very beginning. She has never lost her love for people or the mission, and it's infectious.
FriendshipWorks’ mission is to reduce social isolation, enhance the quality of life, and preserve the dignity of older adults in Greater Boston and I see it work every day person by person. The volunteers share they get friendship and connection out of the friendships as well.
We support older adults by providing visitors, help getting to and from medical appointments and help with household tasks. As well as sharing pets, music and connection to bring joy.
