We are happy to team up in our grandfather Remigio Bautista's memory to walk this Sunday, May 19th in support of FriendshipWorks, MusicWorkds and similar programs that help combat elder isolation!

Our grandfather was a resident of Spencer House, and he enjoyed participating in the MusicWorks program which came to his building to provide music and entertainment to him and many other residents on-site. Unfortunately, our grandfather passed away during the Covid shutdown at his nursing home completely isolated from all of his friends & family--which is why this cause is very near and dear to our hearts!

I (Marlenny) had the great honor of partnering with this organization shortly after our grandfather had passed (following the Pandemic) to conduct research among program participants and I was delighted to hear that Papa Remigio was a "regular" participant who enjoyed these programs. This meant a lot to us given that our grandfather also battled with Alzheimer's as he grew older and knowing that these programs exists to bring a smile to his face really warms our hearts!

We will be walking this Sunday in our grandfather's memory and in support of programs that continue to focus on combatting elder isolation.
