Hello, my name is Leroy Brown. My life began in a place no puppy should ever be born—at the hands of careless, greedy breeders.
Bad breeders, inbreeders, and puppy mills look for handsome breeds like mine to make money. They don’t care about our health, our needs, or the consequences of their actions. When problems appear—like birth defects, illnesses, or genetic conditions—puppies like me are discarded.
I was born with a serious medical condition called rectal prolapse, which required several expensive surgeries. To my breeders, that meant I wasn’t profitable. At just six months old, I was stuffed into a shoebox and dumped on the side of the road in Pipe Creek.
But fate stepped in. A kind stranger (much like yourself) found me and rushed me to a vet, who gave me the life-saving surgeries I desperately needed. For weeks, I couldn’t eat regular food—and had to survive on IV nutrition. Slowly, I grew stronger, surrounded by love instead of cruelty.
Six weeks later, I found my forever home with my new mom. She gave me warmth, safety, and a promise that I’d never be abandoned again. Today, I’m thriving, and every wag of my tail is proof of how far I’ve come.
Puppy mills and inbreeders create suffering every single day. They treat dogs like products, not like family. When people buy from them, they keep the cycle of cruelty alive.
I’m Leroy Brown, a survivor who was once left for dead, but I’ve been given a second chance, and I want to help other dogs like me find their forever home. Running for El Rey Fido gives me a platform to advocate for my fellow fur babies. Together, we can give every dog the chance at love that they deserve. Please—adopt, don’t shop.
