The Bombay Suburban Electric Supply Municipal General Hospital (BSES MG Hospital) is a charity medical center that has already treated more than 82,000 patients in Mumbai, resulting in a severe shortage of medical supplies. After receiving a list of the hospital’s priority equipment needs, Health eVillages, a global non-profit founded by Donato Tramuto, will use Solvoz’s online procurement platform to ensure that the requested medical equipment is purchased from the most trusted suppliers at the most affordable price, while utilizing the company’s vendors for swift delivery to the Mumbai hospital.
Two members of the Health eVillages board, including Kartik Shah, co-founder and managing partner at Skyscape, and Anand Singh, Leader Supply Chain eCommerce at Royal Philips N.V, talked with Tramuto about the pandemic that is ravaging their native country. Together with Claire Barnhoorn, founder and CEO of Solvoz, the group decided to collaborate on creating a crowd-sourcing platform where the public would be able to donate toward the purchase of badly needed medical equipment, such as PPE and oxygen supplies.
