Spina Bifida is a birth defect that causes a persons spine not to close properly while a mother is pregent with her baby. The Spina Bifida Association of Kentucky does fantastic work promote the prevention of Spina Bifida and to enhance the lives of all affected. When my mom was pregent with me, and after I was born, SBAK was a resource for my parents to realize that it was going to be okay and that Spina Bifida was not the end of the world. I currently work with SBAK on the board of directors as well as in the Giving Back group to help give back to SBAK and to mentor children with Spina Bifida.
