Hi! I'm Muppet and I am a two-year camp counselor at Camp del Corazon as well as a CHD patient myself. While I never got to experience camp as a camper, I am SO grateful to have found Camp now and to be able to be part of the Camp magic for the next generation of campers. Camp infuses campers with confidence, resilience and independence in a way that truly can only be described as magic. And for these kids, who have gone through so much, it goes SO FAR!!
As a former pastry chef, I love to bake! So to raise funds for Camp this year, I am going to bake 15 "snacking" cakes over 15 days (Oct 9-Oct 23) in hopes of raising at least $1500 for Camp. [Snacking cakes is code for cakes you can eat all day long.] But who is going to eat these cakes? GREAT QUESTION! I will be gifting these delectable treats to stellar camp volunteers and posting about it on Instagram! Be sure to follow along @emilyearhart to see if your favorite Camp person is eating cake!
ABOUT CAMP DEL CORAZON
When Camp del Corazon began in 1995, 49 campers spent three days on beautiful Catalina Island off the coast of Southern California. Over the years, the camp has grown to three five-day sessions with more than 350 campers. Camp del Corazon is staffed completely by volunteer counselors, nurses, and physicians who give of their hearts to help these special kids.
Camp del Corazon has grown into a non-profit organization dedicated to providing experiential programs for children and families living with heart disease. Programs include a free-of-charge, residential summer camp, virtual programs, leadership retreats, educational symposiums and family weekend programs custom designed to enrich the lives of their unique population. Each year we serve more than 600 children and families because of your support!
