In May of 2018 we lost my brother, Shawn Lopez, at the age of 20 to SUDEP. Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) affects approximately 1 in 1,000 adults with epilepsy annually. 8 years have passed, and while time heals all wounds, our family’s grief is unwavering. We find him in the little things everyday- a song on the radio, a bird out the window, an expiration date on our snacks, or an orange car on the ride to work. He’s not here physically, but he’s not gone either.

In honor of Shawn and his battle, this year we are again asking you to join us in supporting the epilepsy community in finding a cure. You don’t have to donate to walk, and you don’t have to walk to donate. Please use the updated link below if you’re interested! Thank you! ?
