Chicago's Partnership: Deaf Planet Soul (DPS)

Chicago F5K is partnering this year with Deaf Planet Soul (DPS) which aims to serve the hearing impaired community in Chicago since 2017. This year, Chicago F5K is going to be raising funds for DPSs’ Dream Fund. The Dream Funds mission is to provide the hearing impaired community a common space which will include courses, workshops and amenities such as fitness, art, education, employment and business opportunities. The hearing impaired community relies heavily on other for many day-to-day aspects to mitigate socialization and experience barriers in virtually every environment. The Dream Fund aims to create sustainable learning atmospheres for members of the deaf and hard of hearing communities to learn and be empowered in multiple aspects of everyday life.

International Charity Partner: IMANA-SaveSmile Surgical Mission

30% of all donations from each participating city will go towards our international charity partner IMANA. IMANA will perform cleft lip surgeries on small children and youth in Khartoum, Sudan. IMANA Medical Relief has been undertaking this for 9 years now and has done 1,388 successful surgeries so far.
