Going Over the Edge for Lydia Bowie

I am going Over the Edge for Flynn and rappel nine stories down the side of the Courtyard Marriott on Saturday, August 31, in memory of my niece Lydia Bowie. Lydia was my amazing niece who left this world on 11/30/18, at just 2 1/2. Her zest for life and learning was apparant to all who knew her...her wit and intelligence was off the charts and she never missed an opportunity to be silly with you and make you laugh. She is missed everyday by so many which is why I'm starting the, Lydia Bowie Education Fund, to keep her name and memory alive in other ways. I love her name, so seeing it, and saying it makes me happy. (Bowie, after David Bowie) This fund will  directly support the Flynn’s efforts to nurture and expand the minds of so many of our community’s children. When I started working at the Flynn in March, I was amazed to learn that over 1/3 of the Flynn’s annual $7.5 million budget goes to education...I love the fact that the Flynn is helping to bring the joy of live performance to so many children...I know that Lydia would have been one of them. I would be so grateful if you would help me in my efforts to support our education programs by making a donation, or joining my team in memory of Lydia Bowie and the Eductaion Fund in her name.

Please join me downtown on Saturday, August 31, to watch me rappel nine stories for Lydia!

Help me reach my goal and support the cultural and education programs in memory of Lydia Bowie, at the Flynn Center.

Student Matinee Series

  • A series of 30+ per year matinees serve approximately 38,000 children per year in grades PreK-12 from within a 120-mile radius.
  • Support of the matinees allows ticket prices to be at the lowest accessible access point and to offer free tickets to those students with high need. Last year, 7,100 students attended for free!
  • Support also allows the Flynn  to reach out to rural and underserved schools, providing tickets and bussing support, thereby equalizing access for students from communities that have fewer opportunities to experience the arts.
