Why I'm Going Over the Edge for the Flynn
There are just a few days to go to support Vermont's preeminent arts and culture center and its incredible arts education programs. I am really excited to go Over the Edge for Flynn and rappel nine stories down the face of the Courtyard Marriott on Saturday, August 31st.
Please give early and often. If you are a friend, please give so you can see me go ‘over the edge’ (as not many of you have observed me in that condition). If you are a work colleague, please give in the spirit of ‘tossing the boss’. If you are a competitor, there is some risk factor for me that might encourage your donating to my possible peril.
Many have experienced the Flynn as an audience member for shows, concerts, dance, drama and more. You may not be as aware of the the education programs which directly support our efforts to expand the minds of many of our community’s children through our Student Matinee Series, FlynnArts classes and the Flynn Youth Theater Company. One third of our annual $7.5 million budget goes to education. This event will help raise some well-deserved financial support for their education programs, but it also helps to spread awareness that the Flynn is a non-profit and relies the generosity of our community to thrive.
I have been involved at the Flynn for more than 35 years as a promoter of concerts and shows, a volunteer, an audience member and Board member.
Please donate to my fundraising page and then join me downtown on Saturday, August 31st.
