Florida Children's Museum originally opened in 1991 as Explorations V Children’s Museum with a call to action in the local newspaper.
The Museum is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Its mission is to curate the world for all children to explore.
The Museum started out in a small store-front in 1991, moved into the historic Kress building in 2000 and has reopened in Bonnet Springs Park in 2022.
