Feeding the Piedmont: Coming Together to Nourish Our Neighbors

Rising food and living costs continue to stretch household budgets and bring more people to food assistance programs across our region. That’s why ABC45 News is partnering with Food Lion Feeds and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC for the Feeding the Piedmont Food Drive.

From Monday, August 17, through Friday, August 21, community members can donate nonperishable food at participating Food Lion locations listed below. Donations will support Second Harvest and its network of local partners working to make nutritious food more accessible throughout Northwest North Carolina.

Together, we can help ensure more of our neighbors have the food they need to thrive.

Virtual Food Drive Participation Policy

Every day, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC helps local families in need of food assistance working with 600 on-the-ground partner programs serving 18 Northwest North Carolina counties. Each time you participate in a Virtual Food Drive, you entrust Second Harvest to direct your gifts to where they are needed most. This includes, but it not limited to, the purchase of food items needed by our partner network members, such as, but not limited to, the representative items on this website.
