The current COVID-19 pandemic is impacting many families who are unexpectedly unemployed due to the sudden closure of companies, restaurants and schools. Food Banks in Illinois are experiencing a more than 50 percent increase in individuals facing food insecurity.

You can help Nicor Gas put food on their plates by donating to this #VirtualVolunteer Fund Drive. The funds raised together stay right here, in our backyard, and will provide nutritious food like fresh produce, protein, and milk to our hungry neighbors.

Every $1 donated helps provide $8 worth of groceries, so every gift can make a big impact. Here are some other ways Northern Illinois Food Bank puts your dollars to work to solve hunger in Northern Illinois:  

• $20 helps provide a monthly food box to a senior who is unable to visit a food pantry.
• $30 helps provide $240 worth of groceries to a family in need.
• $60 a month helps provide a food-filled backpack to feed three children every weekend of the school year.
