About the Pritts-Olive Surgical Suite Campaign
Family Health Ministries has long envisioned a center of excellence for women’s healthcare in Tom Gato, Haiti. Our Carmelle Voltaire Women's Health Center—the only healthcare facility between Leogane and Jacmel—provides essential preventive care and safe deliveries, but women who need C-sections or other surgeries must currently endure a dangerous 45-minute journey for care. By adding the new Pritts-Olive Surgical Suite, named in loving honor of our dear friends Elizabeth Pritts and her late husband Dave Olive, we will be able to provide life-saving surgeries on-site. This campaign will fund the opening of the surgical suite and one year of operations, ensuring timely, high-quality care for the women of Tom Gato.

Why Support the Pritts-Olive Surgical Suite?
Haiti has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the Western Hemisphere, and our Carmelle Voltaire Women’s Health Center is uniquely positioned—through deep ties to the Tom Gato community—to address this urgent crisis. However, without the ability to perform surgeries like C-sections, we cannot fully meet women’s needs when childbirth complications arise and every minute counts. Without an on-site surgical suite, women face dangerous delays traveling to distant hospitals, where timely care is not guaranteed even with transportation and resources. Supporting this campaign bridges that gap, ensuring immediate, life-saving surgery at our center—resulting in fewer lives lost, fewer families separated, and safer outcomes for mothers and babies.
