Update: The April 18 Foodie 5K event is now virtual. Fundraising is as important as ever. Designated as an essential business, Northern Illinois Food Bank is continuing to support our hungry neighbors as demand for food assistance increases in these uncertain times.
Northern Illinois Food Bank provides food and other essential items to more than half a million people every year. That’s why I’ve committed to raise funds to help provide for our hungry neighbors by again participating in the annual Foodie 5K.
Last year’s event was a rewarding experience and great success. Our Ryan Companies team raised more than $1,000 and has a goal to do that again this year. Thanks to everyone's support, the Food Bank was able to provide the equivalent of $1.8 million worth of groceries for families in need. This year the goal is $2 million worth of groceries!
Every $1 donated helps provide $8 worth of groceries.
$20 helps provide a monthly food box to a senior who is unable to visit a food pantry.
$30 helps provide $240 of groceries to a family in need.
$60 helps provide food-filled backpacks to six hungry children with enough food for the entire weekend.
