Did you know that Northern Illinois Food Bank provides food and other essential items to more than half a million people every year? That’s why we have committed to raise funds that will help provide for these precious families by supporting this year’s Foodie 5K (the Wheaton, IL event on April 18 is now a virtual event).
Last year’s event was a rewarding experience and great success. Thanks to everyone's support the Food Bank was able to provide the equivalent of $1.8 million worth of groceries for families in need. This year the goal is $2 million worth of groceries!
Did you know that every $1 donated helps provide $8 worth of groceries?
$20 helps provide a monthly food box to a senior who is unable to visit a food pantry.
$30 helps provide $240 of groceries to a family in need.
$60 helps provide food-filled backpacks to six hungry children with enough food for the entire weekend.
