Support the Elizabeth Peabody House (EPH) Food Pantry

Food is a basic human need. Good nutrition is essential for health, wellness, and quality of life. (GBFB, 2025) And yet, nearly one-third of Somerville residents regularly miss meals because they cannot afford food. (GBFB, 2023)

Elizabeth Peabody House (EPH) operates one of five food pantries located in Somerville. The EPH food pantry is open to the community three days a week and makes weekly deliveries to several community housing partners. EPH also maintains a community fridge and partners with DTA on SNAP outreach and enrollment.

In 2025, the EPH food pantry averaged just over 1,300 visits per month. (OFAHC, 2026) Food pantry guests receive fresh produce, dairy, and meats as well as shelf-stable pantry staples.

In Massachusetts, groceries for one adult cost between $500 and $650 a month. (StateCalc, 2026) As food costs continue to rise, more of our neighbors will face the prospect of chronic hunger.

Every gift to the EPH food pantry means someone in our community doesn't have to go hungry. Will you help us raise $10,000 by November 20,  2026 to Feed Our Neighbors?
