About the Annual Fight for Families 5k

Fostering the Family is hosting our 6th Annual Fight for Families 5k Trail Run/Walk on October 18, 2025. Like last year, this race will be held at the beautiful Allison Creek Park and will bring awareness to the local foster and adoption crisis. While this race is a true 5k, it will also have some elements that offer an interactive insight into the life of a child traveling through the child welfare system. Join us as we experience the reality of foster care and come together as a community to bring about change!

Packet pick up will be held Friday night October 17, 2025 at Papa Doc's from 4-7 pm.  This is a time to connect with our team as well as other race participants.  Packet pick up will also be from 7:45- 8:45 am on race day.

There will be interactive stations leading up to the start line that you will be able to visit from 8-9 am, as well as two water stations during the race.  Our 5k race for all ages will begin at 9 am and be timed by both male and female divisions per age category.

Following the race, there will be an awards ceremony at 10:15 am with prizes for the race winners in each age category.  Each runner will receive their time via text from Queen City Timing.  

If your business, church, or nonprofit is interested in sponsorship and vendor tables we encourage all participation by the community.
