Strides 4 CMV Maine 5k walk
This is Maine's first Strides 4 CMV and the hope is to raise money and awareness of CMV while also building an amazing annual community event.
This annual event raises critical awareness about congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV)—a common, serious, and preventable virus that causes more birth defects than Down syndrome, spina bifida, or fetal alcohol syndrome. Yet nearly 91% of expecting parents have never even heard of it.
On Sunday, June 21st, gather your friends, family, or coworkers and walk, run, or roll 5K (3.1 miles) at Joan Samuelson Track and Field @ 30 Holbrook Street, Freeport, Maine, 04032.
Every step helps fuel prevention, education, and research to stop CMV from causing pregnancy loss, childhood death, and lifelong disabilities.
