One Million Meals in September

More than 47 million Americans face food insecurity. And still, an estimated 38% of all food in the U.S. goes uneaten.

Food Rescue US volunteers rescue food that would’ve gone to waste—and deliver it directly to partner agencies serving people in need. 

With your help, we can do even more. By raising $50,000, we can rescue the equivalent of an additional one million meals across the US. That same impact also fuels thousands of volunteer hours, enables thousands of food rescues each week, and keeps good food out of landfills.

Your local site may not be listed if they’re focusing on another September fundraiser or if they’ve already met their annual fundraising target.

Food Rescue US is a tax-exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Tax ID: 27-4486556. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Food Rescue US provides essential operational support that allows site programs to run efficiently and effectively. 15% of all donations to Food Rescue US’ sites will be allocated to Food Rescue US to support the centralized operations, technology, compliance, and fundraising support. For volunteer-led sites, the first $2,000 raised annually supports local needs directly. Funds raised beyond that are used to strengthen under-resourced or emerging sites across the country through our national operations. Your gift fuels both local impact and broader network growth.
