I read because it has always taken me to places that I love. The more diverse the author, the more stories I'm able to relate to and I typically default to women writers of color. My world has been shifted by authors such as Louise Erdrich, Alice Walker, Ruth Oseki, Isabel Allende, Jacqueline Woodson and Sherman Alexie.
