On 15 March, I will be running the Barcelona Marathon with my son Matthias to raise funds for the Kabuki Syndrome Foundation. Like many families around the world, we have been deeply impacted by Kabuki syndrome. Our son Côme, now 13, was officially diagnosed when he was 2. The first years of his life were marked by countless hospital visits, emergency admissions, intensive care, and surgeries -an incredibly difficult period for our family. Despite everything, we feel profoundly lucky to be Come's parents. He is a wonderful teacher of life and love, a ray of sunshine, and a constant source of strength. He gave me the motivation to run two London Marathons and raise thousands of pounds for charities between 2013 and 2015. Ten years later, and despite a pair of aging knees, I am proud to be back on the start line, still running to help support families and advance research.
