This year marks the 14^th anniversary of the opening of the Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center; the one and only traditional Longhouse in the City of Seattle that represents the culture and story of Seattle's First People, the Dxwdaw?abs. In recent times past, we were called to reinvent connectivity that allowed for safety, well-being and healing and we as a tribe have stood the test of times and met all expectation that called for resiliency for a strong Duwamish Tribe today. This month we celebrate and honor our ancestors by acknowledging Native American Heritage Month by continuing to invite and offer you the unique opportunity to join with us as we celebrate virtually at our 2022 Gala Fundraiser to be launched on November 10, 2022, and continues for 20 full days thru November 30, 2022.

Your participation and support in the 2022 Gala Fundraiser will support us in continuing to fulfill our mission. Our mission is to promote the social, cultural, and economic survival of the Duwamish People. Every year, we fulfill this mission by operating the Duwamish Longhouse & Cultural Center that continues to offer free public space to community groups, event rentals and culture exchange and sharing opportunities for all. The peoples who visit every year continue to testify to the strong community support and interest that make the Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center an important cultural resource to the Pacific Northwest.

Our success has been made possible by community friendships and partnerships that have held us up and encouraged us during these precarious times. Your support makes you an important part of the rebuilding of cultural connections and advancing heritage preservation. Supporting our annual Gala connects you with 6000 Real Renters and community supporters, as well as the 25,000 guests that have visited or attended many of free community events at the Duwamish Longhouse & cultural Center over our 14 years of operation. Your support will help the Duwamish carry our mission into the future.
