Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia’s annual Generous Associates Campaign has officially begun! Please join us in supporting the campaign, which aims to raise much needed funds for the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia.  Each year, the Campaign raises over one-quarter of Legal Aid’s budget—that is, one-quarter of the budget for the oldest and largest non-profit civil legal services organization in the District. Legal Aid serves low-income individuals living in D.C., who, while struggling to make ends meet, are confronted with issues such as trying to get heat restored in their homes in the winter, escaping domestic violence, facing abusive debt collection practices, and securing much-needed unemployment benefits.  Ultimately, Legal Aid is doing incredibly important work for those in underserved communities.

Akin has always been supportive of pro bono work and particularly of Legal Aid.  Please join us this year as we aim to set a new record to make justice real for D.C. residents who might not otherwise be able to afford a lawyer! While the Campaign is organized by associates, contributions are happily accepted and encouraged from everybody connected with a law firm in the city or from anyone else. Any amount helps us in reaching our goal, and we appreciate your support.
