Virtual Table Host FAQs

Thank you for your willingness to be a Virtual Table Host at this year's Mayors' Gala Benefiting The Leaven!

A virtual table host plays a very important role in the success of our event! Similar to the role of ’table host’ at our in-person gala, we ask virtual hosts to invite their family, friends, and colleagues to support and learn more about the work The Leaven is doing in our communities.

Virtual hosts invite guests virtually, which means if you aren’t hosting guests in person, you can still interact and fund-raise with your community online. Once you register to become a virtual host you can start fundraising immediately!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our gala fundraising will take place for an entire month, cluminating with our live, online program on Sunday, October 25.

Share your personal fundraising page with your network and on social media, compete against other table hosts, and most importantly, help transform the lives of children struggling to succeed.

Similar to the role of ’table host’ at our in-person gala, we ask virtual hosts to invite their family, friends, and colleagues to: (1) Tune-in to the gala broadcast on October 25 to learn about The Leaven, and (2) Support the vital work we are doing in our communities.

Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 6pm PT.

Your duties last from the moment you register, culminating with the gala broadcast on October 25. During this time, you will be directing your friends and family to your personal fundraising page for support, and inviting them to register to watch the gala broadcast.

If you do not feel comfortable doing so, you do not need to invite anyone to watch the gala broadcast with you in person. Remember, hosts invite guests virtually, which means if you aren’t hosting guests in person, you can still interact and fund-raise with your community online. If your friends or family sign up to watch the gala, they will be automatically added to your virtual table! Any donations they make will be tracked on your personal fundraising page.

Friends and family can start donating immediately! Donations can be made today, and throughout the gala broadcast.

As a virtual table host, you will have the fun challenge of competing against other hosts for how much your virtual table raises! As you raise funds with your virtual table guests, those gifts will be totaled, updated in real-time, and tracked on our virtual leaderboard. If your friends aren't available to watch the broadcast on October 25, they can still contribute to your virtual table donation total!

It only takes about 5 minutes to sign up! Once you register as a virtual table host, you can start fundraising immediately!

Once you've registered, we will email you a table host package, complete with details about The Leaven, directions on how to create and customize your fundraising page, and templates of what to say to your friends and family to help you promote the the event over email and social media.
