About MEND
MEND is a community-driven hunger relief network that increases access to fresh, healthy food while convening partners, residents, and leaders to build stronger, more equitable food systems across Essex County.
Now in its eighth year, the Green Bean Gala supports 50+ Essex County food pantries and community partners. What began as a beloved school bus turned mobile pantry has grown into one of the most impactful hunger relief networks in the region.
