In March of 2022 at 37 years old, I was diagnosed with HER2+ Stage 2 Invasive Breast Cancer and Paget's Disease of the Breast.  I had 6 chemo treatments that took 8 hours each time because I was allergic to my chemo so they had to run it into my system at a very slow rate and dose me heavily with Benadryl to avoid having another allergic reaction.  Along with chemo I also did immunotherapy treatment for 1 year since my cancer was very high grade and aggressive.  Lastly, I had a double masectomy to remove the spreading cancer.

As now a 3 year breast cancer survivor I know how important support and resources are not only for patients but also our families that help us through our battle.  Gilda's Club was a place that I found support from other cancer survivors and/or patients themselves.  Cancer can be a lonely and scary journey so it's so vital to have supports available when you need them!  Gilda's Club offers resources and support free of cost to patients and their families which is huge.

This year I will be joing the Gilda's Club Run/Walk Event with my company, Certco, and some of our employees will be joining me as well!
