Kidsave works to find forever homes and lifelong mentors for older children in orphanages and foster care (ages 9-17) in Los Angeles, Houston, Ukraine, Colombia, and Sierra Leone.

Since 1999, Kidsave has directly helped more than 19,000 youth in the US and internationally. 

Research shows that when children grow up in foster care and orphanages it negatively affects their attention and stimulation, and thier neurological systems do not develop normally. Many may develop learning disabilities, have growth delays, and diminished intellectual capacities. Additionally, many struggle with the psychological trauma of losing their parents and, the neglect or abuse they experienced. 

Kidsave is the ONLY organization that focuses on older foster youth. Youth older than 7 are often seen as “unadoptable.” Kidsave works to change the misconception about older foster youth and empower these children to have a voice in choosing their families and life-long mentors. At Kidsave, we believe that all children, no matter their age, race, sexuality, or trauma, need at least one adult to love, support, and care for them. With family support, most of these children can lead happy, productive lives.
