The dollars you donate to the Council for #GivingTuesday 2023 are special.
They will fund the Council’s own scholarship programs, so they can make awards to families who are working hard to overcome extremely difficult circumstances, like homelessness or domestic violence, and do not otherwise qualify for financial assistance for child care. Recipients may also include grandparents caring for grandchildren, or parents who are going back to college, among others.
Together, we can ensure that child care is a resource for them, instead of a barrier.
Child care allows parents to work, build careers, and pay for other necessities. It contributes to a diverse and talented workforce and builds a strong local economy.
The quality of care is really important. In the right early education setting, children will be safe, eat nutritious food, and have access to books, toys and learning materials that fuel the early brain growth critical for future health and learning.
