Dear Family and Friends,
On June1 through 3, 2018 I have committed to participate in GLORIDAYS- A Weekend Journey. The  44 mile walk to raise $1500  will help  to provide support and resources for those touched by cancer in the Rhode Island, southeastern Massachusetts and eastern Connecticut communities. 88% of the funds raise will directly benefit these communities!
As a GLORIDAYS participant, I have been given the opportunity to celebrate breast cancer survivorship, honor those who fought the battle and lost, support those who are fighting now and for  those yet to fight the disease.
My journey started  in December 2017 when I picked up a postcard promoting the GLORIDAYS Walk. After speaking to members on the team I set my goals and began preparing for this 3 day experience. What helped to seal my commitment to this walk was a letter I received  and saved from 11 years ago when I did a walk  for breast cancer,  In part the letter stated,"....... I wish I could be out there walking with you but unfortunately I'm only 10 years old. But when i am old enough I'm going to do the walk. And when I'm doing it I will think of you...." I never met this young supporter. Today at this very moment, I have been given an opportunity to put my walking shoes on, the chance to stand  at the starting line on June 1st, walk 44 miles and experience the thrill of crossing the finish line.
This journey compared to a lifetime is short, but the benefits will go on touching many who  I may never meet. Please take a moment in support of my efforts.  Come this September 30th - October1st,when the State capital building is lit up and Providence goes pink - know that I will be there!! Thank You!
