Mission Statement
At Indiana University School of Medicine, we are dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of our community. Health is complex and involves more than just medicine; healthy living is rooted in our everyday habits, especially in what we eat and how much we eat. Every day, members of our community struggle to put healthy food on the table. This is why we paired with the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana to assist food-insecure families.
Together, we are coordinating the food drive and charity event Go for Gary 5k: Family Fun Run.
Our ability to help the 100,000 individuals facing hunger in Lake and Porter counties depends on the generosity and support of people like you: community members, neighbors, and friends. We are raising money and food to help those who need it.
Event Description
Our fundraising deadline will culminate with our 3rd annual 5k run/walk. The trail follows the gorgeous Marquette Park area, which sits along the beachfront of Lake Michigan. We welcome everyone in our NWI community to join us in celebrating the mission of this charity and enjoying the end of summer. It’ll also be the last day that beaches will be open for the season. Bring your friends and family!
