Hello there,

My name is Jordan Kraus. In 2018 we gave birth 3 weeks early to a beautiful baby boy named Elzie. 
When he was only 5 weeks old, he was diagnosed with RSV. As first time parents we had no idea what that all meant. We were in and out of our local hospitals for about 3 days before getting sent up to Children’s in St. Paul, MN. When our pediatrician told us the news and had an ambulance ready to bring our son up there, I was scared, nervous and had no idea what to expect. I always thought Children’s was where you went when your child was in dire need of help. Little did we know, that’s what Elzie needed.
We spent 6 nights there, the nurses and doctors were AMAZING beyond words. Those 6 nights brought us so many ups and downs of emotions. When we got discharged, I told my husband (Jaare) I always want to give back to that hospital and get our kids involved, those 6 nights at Children’s impacted Jaare and I more than words can ever explain and this is why it means so much to us.

With our outpouring support, this Fall we raised over $780 in donations to make blankets for all the families going through the same thing. With help from neighbors, friends and family my Step daughter (Kaylee:9 years old) and I were able to make 50 tie blankets and donate them to Children’s in St Paul right before Christmas. It was the best feeling knowing we were able to give something to those sick kids and hopefully put a smile on their faces.
We are now working with Children’s Hospital and Creeksbend Golf Course (New Prague, MN) to put on a fun Golf Tournament to raise money for Children’s Hospital.
With our small community I know we can make a big difference!
