At La Causa Crisis Nursery & Respite Center, we provide a safe haven for children and critical support for families, ensuring children have a safe place to stay, escape, and just be a kid during the most stressful times. Our bilingual licensed 12-bed shelter on the south side of Milwaukee provides comprehensive care for children ages 0 to 12 for up to 72 hours at no cost to families.
Decades of research show that protecting children from Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)—such as abuse, neglect, and family crisis—leads to lifelong positive outcomes, including better health, stronger academic achievement, and greater economic stability.
