I want to thank everyone who has supported me the past four years in helping Project HOePpnEr increase awarenes around teen suicide through their annual HOPE for TomorROW rowing event. Suicide is the second leading cause of death in the US for people ages 15 – 34, and Vermont’s suicide rate is higher than the national average. The struggles teens face today, and the effect these struggles have on their lives, is heartbreaking. I am thankful to Joe and Sue Hoeppner for their courage and tireless efforts, through Project HOePpnEr, to help create opportunities for teens, loved ones and the community to connect and communicate honestly with each other…without judgement.
