I created this team to support my 6 month old son Theodore. Teddy was born 6 weeks premature and had a hard time breathing on his own. He was put in the Special Care Unit at Children's but soon after was moved to the NICU and put on a CPAP machine because his breathing had become worse. Little Teddy had issues with his IVs and had Jaundice as well. A few days went by and he seemed to start improving when his monitors started to go off and he had an episode of SVT (Supraventricular Tachycardia). This is a heart condition caused by an abnormal electrical pathway in the heart that causes rapid heart beat (180+) and if not treated could be fatal. After his second episode he was tested and officially diagnosed with SVT. They started him on medication to help prevent another episode and we go to see his cardiologist Dr. Carter every few months. Teddy and I have been blessed and he has not experienced another episode since he's been home. We are very grateful to the doctors and nurses at Children's Hospital for doing such an amazing job! We are also very lucky to have such wonderful friends and family that have supported us!! Love you all a ton and thank you for all you have done.
