Cora was born December 18th, 2009 and was immediately rushed to the NICU at Children's Hospital due to an extremely strong murmur in her heart. Over the next days, we learned of Cora's special heart (four heart defects), we learned how compassionate the nurses, doctors, and staff at Children's are, and we also learned that this will be a lifelong journey for our family. We will forever be indebted to Children's Hospital for saving and taking such gentle ongoing care of our sweet Cora. This is one little way we try to give back to Children's every year. I can't believe this is our sixth year participating in this 5k, so as a way to celebrate, I set a very lofty goal of $1000 to raise for cardiac reserach at Children's!
