The Capuchin Order is a Roman Catholic order of brothers that was founded in 1528 in central Italy as a reform of the Franciscan Order. The order's name comes from the Italian word cappuccio, which means "pointed hood". Capuchins are known for their heroic ministry, extreme austerity, simplicity, and poverty.
Proceeds for this event go to support the Capuchin's Summer Service Programs to help alleviate poverty in the Hudson Valley and Appalachia.
