Bricks of Hope started with one 8-year-old who wanted to help.
My son Jamo has a really big heart and is always asking what we can do to help people experiencing homelessness. But at 8 years old, finding a way for him to make a meaningful difference isn’t always easy.
Over the summer, we came up with an idea that combines giving back with one of his favorite things: LEGO!
On October 17, we’re bringing that idea to life with Bricks of Hope, a LEGO building competition and fundraiser benefiting the shelters at Light of Life Rescue Mission. We’re also grateful to Focus On Renewal, another incredible local nonprofit, for generously donating the space for the event.
Want to join us?
Kids can register in teams for a LEGO building challenge, followed by complimentary pizza, LEGO prizes and a showing of The LEGO Movie.

Where: Father Ryan Arts Center, 420 Chartiers Ave, McKees Rocks
Teams: Two kids per team (ages 5-12)

If you’d like, you can use this page to pay your $20 registration fee, but please still email me so I can save your spot!
Can’t make it to the event? You can still be part of Bricks of Hope by making a donation through this page. Every donation will benefit Light of Life Rescue Mission and help Jamo turn his idea into something that makes a real difference.
Help us build hope, one brick at a time.
