Habitat for Humanity Maui

About Habitat for Humanity Maui

Habitat for Humanity Maui was incorporated in 1996 and officially became an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International in 1997. It was an all-volunteer organization for the first five years and hired its first Executive Director in 2003. Its service area includes the islands of Maui and Lanai.

Habitat for Humanity Maui offers a building program where we build single family or multi-family housing for those in need. Habitat for Humanity Maui also does critical repairs, renovations and retrofits with its “A Brush With Kindness” Program.

Your Experience

Join Habitat Maui for the volunteer adventure of a lifetime! During your Hawaii Village Build you’ll be a part of helping a local family obtain strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter while indulging in Hawaii’s divine landscape and rich culture.

Your team will help build in all phases of construction; digging footings, framing sub-floors, raising walls, roofing, installing flooring, doors, trim, and cabinetry.

The cultural activities you can explore are endless! Drive the Road to Hana to view beautiful waterfalls, enjoy a stunning sunset at Haleakala National Park, relax at one of the many beaches; Baldwin, Makena, or Kaanapali, or hike IAO Needle, the Waihee Ridge Trail, Lahaina Pali Trail from Maalaea, or the Waihou Spring Trail.

Your team will be hosted at our local church partner’s grounds, IAO United Church of Christ. There is a full kitchen, two full bathrooms, and a large open room for sleeping arrangements. You get a gorgeous view of the West Maui mountains, Haleakala, and a distant ocean view.
