While brain injuries can affect people of all ages, traumatic brain injuries are the leading cause of death and disability among children and young adults. In fact, children ages 0 to 17 years old accounted for almost 10% of all traumatic brain injury-related hospitalizations around the U.S..
Holton's Heroes helps these children attain expensive therapy equipment that will improve their quality of life today and well into the future. Your support of this year's Holton's Heroes bi-coastal fundraiser is paramount to our continued ability to help families in all 50 states.
Just like last year, we are hosting a family-friendly fundraising event in two cities: Los Angeles, CA and Philadelphia, PA. We invite all westcoasters to meet us at the Tarzana Community & Cultural Center in Tarzana, CA on Saturday, October 1st for an incredible afternoon to raise awareness & funds for the bravest people we know: pediatric brain injury survivors!
Come prepared to have a good time as we'll have a DJ spinning the latest hits! Plus, our event will feature fun carnival games with Disney & Mattel prizes, Pixi Beauty station with special gifts for attendees, a bounce house & mega-slide for the kids, as well as cotton candy & popcorn carts!
Additionally, a specilal curated selection of items from Shappy Pretzels, Ginger's Device Ice Cream Pops and more will be on site to satisfy your tastebuds, as well as some other delicious surprises. Guests over 21 years of age will be able to enjoy award-winning Great Notion craft beers in our first-ever beer garden!
For guests that enjoy some pampering and youth enhancing multipurpose products to make you look like you, only better, then we got you covered! Pixi Beauty will be on site with their famous beauty station set up and complimentary gifts to take home.
Our Keynote Speakers
We are honored to co-host this event with the incredible Dawn McCoy, an avid philanthropist and host of Dine & Dish with Dawn. Dawn McCoy, one of our featured guest speakers, is a respected Los Angeles-based host, tastemaker, beauty, lifestyle & food expert, and personality. In addition to her many talents, Dawn is the mother of Waylon, an incredible 1-year-old brain injury survivor who she calls her "miracle baby." ?
We are also thrilled to have Emmy Award-winning journalist Kristine Lazar (CBS 2 & KCAL 9 News) talk to us about the importance of helping pediatric brain injury survivors and how Holton's Heroes is paramount in helping the families attain the expensive equipment often denied by insurance.
