Porter-Leath staff members know that there is no quick and easy fix to the problems facing our city, but by employing best-practices, measuring our outcomes and refining our programs, we can make a difference in the lives of over 40,000 local children and families.

Books from Birth mails monthly, age-appropriate books to nearly 35,000 local children. These books are not only being well-read, they have provided parents with a consistent literacy tool to use as they spend quality time with their children.

Connections works with the Department of Children's Services to ensure children have access to safe foster homes.

Cornerstone provides parents and children support and education through regular visits with parent educators. Their Parents As Teachers curriculum helps to build positive caregiver-child interaction and healthy child development.

Preschool teachers provide high-quality early childhood education for over 1,600 children. Family services staff are also available to help families map out attainable goals and meet emergency needs like food, diapers, and other community resources.

The Teacher Excellence Program provides professional development for early childhood educators through virtual seminars and in-person trainings.

The Early Success Coalition continues to partner with over 60 local and statewide agencies to connect early childhood resources and providers with parents. Its parent-focused website, parentplus901.com, helps parents decide what tools and resources may be available for their family.

NEXT Memphis is increasing the number of local, high-quality child care centers and family day homes by offering significant resources, training, and support to community child care providers.
