Earlier this year on March 16th, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Our world stopped. My tumor was very large and extremely painful, which helped lead to it being discovered early. Diagnosis and subsequent surgery were swift — I had only a few days to organize my life and put everything on pause. It was a blurr. 

And I was lucky. Surgery took more than I anticipated, but was successful — removing my cancer entirely — resulting in no chemo or radiation. I left the hospital with 6 weeks of recovery in front of me, but cancer-free.   My heart is overflowing with gratitude for the support I received from family, an amazing community, and importantly others battling their own cancers. 

As I move forward, I am forever connected to the word cancer. I am a survivor. 
My scars will heal but I will always see them.
