I'm so excited to participate yet again in the HOM Teal Strides for Ovarian Cancer Annual Walk!

As many of you may know, this is my 7th year walking as a SURVIVOR.

Since 2005, I have been walking in hopes of a cure being found.  When I started walking, it was to honor the memory of my grandmother, whom we had lost just days prior to our first event to stage 4 ovarian cancer.  Throughout the years, I continued to walk and help raise awareness, since this was a learning experience for my entire family when she received that diagnosis.  

Flash forward several years later, I started my own health mystery which involved months of puzzling questions.  One month shy of my 27th birthday, the mystery finally came to an end and I was diagnosed with stage 1a ovarian cancer.  Although scary to hear those words, this meant my tumor was found in the earliest stage.

That first September walking as a survivor, I created the team, "One Memory, One Fight".  This team helps me to continue honoring my grandmother's memory and also myself as a survivor.
