A Journey of Courage: My Fight Against Ovarian Cancer
Please donate or come join for the MOCA 5K Walk/Run in September!
4.5 years ago, my life changed forever when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at just 28 years old. I’ve always been a vibrant, energetic person—full of passion, full of life, and never one to back down from a challenge. The diagnosis came as a complete shock, but I met it with everything I had—with strength, determination, and a refusal to give up.
It all started with what felt like minor, everyday discomforts. I was experiencing bloating, abdominal pain, and would feel full quickly after eating. At first, I brushed it off. But when the symptoms didn’t go away, I decided to see a doctor. After a series of tests, the news came: stage III ovarian cancer. And not just any type—it was a rare and aggressive form called Clear Cell Carcinoma. It was overwhelming and terrifying—but I knew I had to fight.
From the beginning, I faced treatment with unwavering optimism. The plan included major surgery and several rounds of chemotherapy. It took a massive toll on my body, but I never let it break my spirit. I kept reminding myself: I wasn’t just fighting for me—I was fighting for my family, my friends, and everyone I love. Cancer would not define me.
Today, I continue this fight through ongoing chemotherapy. It's still hard—some days are tougher than others—but I keep going with the same determination that carried me through the beginning. I’ve learned that even in the hardest moments, there’s still strength to be found. And every day, I try to show that even in the face of something as overwhelming as cancer, there is still hope, still resilience, and still a reason to keep moving forward.
